Overland Missions
Across rural savannah, dusty African plains, the sultry Amazon rain forest, and the pristine shores of the Islands, live an un-reached and forgotten people. In Isaiah 6 God asks, "who can I send and who will go for me?" Overland Missions recognizes the heart of God for the indigenous. We've designed an infrastructure to send men and women into the nations with the message of the New Creation-purchased for all people by the blood of Jesus.
We believe God is raising up a new breed of missionaries-fearless young men and women who take personal responsibility for the nations and will use any means technology has provided to go anywhere on the planet. Drawing on vast experience and expertise, Overland Missions mobilizes teams with state of the art expedition equipment all around the world. In reconnaissance-style missions, Overland Missions uses Overland Trucks, Amazon River Boats, and Yachts featuring satellite phones, GPS, water purification units, Zodiac inflatable rafts with 40 HP engines, and many other components used to safely and effectively mobilize teams for deployment. We are also committed to training and releasing the more independent traveler into smaller teams of backpackers-empowered by the love of Christ-to reach the uttermost parts of the earth.
Right now, try to imagine yourself riding in an Overland expedition truck. Through clouds of dust, you see Mt. Kilimanjaro for the first time. The rugged, off-road machine is packed with travel-hardened, dusty team members, all anxious to reach their destination: a remote Massai village. Can you see yourself, after spending hours with the Massai, setting up camp under the stars in a nearby game reserve? Can you hear the hushed laughter of your team over the crackling fire? Can you sense the cool African air? Imagine your satisfaction as you settle into your tent for the night, knowing that the earth and all it contains belong to God. Do you feel the sway of your hammock rocking you to sleep, as the pre-storm winds of the Amazon blow through the deck of the River Boat? You'll have to get up in a minute-the others will need help tying down the tarps to keep out the pelting rains. But right now you're thinking about the face of the little Ticuna boy you played soccer with today.
Wherever you find yourself, we invite you to help us reach the nations. You only have a short time on this earth. Are you getting the most out of every minute? Join us this year for an adventure that will count both now, and in eternity. Next year may be too late for the third world.
